Whenever the hot days of summer start to slip away, the crisper cooler air reminds me that change is on the horizon.
Eating fruit is making me chilly and the thought of yogurt or a smoothie is making me shiver!!
So for the second day in a row, I am drinking a nice hot mug of tea.
Well, last week found me in total confusion as I stood at the fridge wondering what to cook for dinner.
My summertime ideas just weren’t going to cut it with fall on the horizon. It is time to change up my plan and bring some fresh new ideas and thoughts into my kitchen.
Tidying Up the Mess
I have seven children that I homeschooled for over 25 years.
I am not new to menu planning but that 5pm panic returns from time to time when change is withing sight.
In this mini-series, I am going to be sharing some tips and tricks that I have used through the years that worked for me in hopes that some of my ideas will work for you.
I want to keep my posts relatively short and include a challenge for you to do that day in setting up your menu planning routine.
Whether you have menu planned for years or are just getting on board and looking for a plan, THIS IS FOR YOU!!
I am not selling this to you. My work is free. It is like we are sharing over the fence between our yards like my Gramma Watson used to do.
Let’s get tidying our mess up!!
What You Will Need:
- One 3-Ring Binder
- Clear Sheet Protectors
- Sticky Notes
- Washi Tape
- Fun colored Pens

Today’s Menu Planning Challenge
What I want you to do today is get ready to remake your menu plan.
That is quite a bit, to tell you the truth.
You probably have littles or teens and your home is buzzing with activity. Who has the time to do one more things?!
My kids are grown. It has been just one year without them (sadness, it came way too fast for this mama!!)
I am NEED to KNOW what I am making each day when supper rolls around.
I run my blog ministry.
I run a business.
I am on Periscope, Tuesday through Friday as time permits.
My husband can get home from work before I know it! Time flies when I am eating ‘Bon-Bons’ (NOT!!)
thinks IS starving. He hasn’t eaten since 11:30am and comes home searching the kitchen for munchies (while I am trying to convince him to wait until supper. 😉
We are also eliminating pastas and the over-consumption of carbs out of our diet. Something that my dear husband doesn’t quite get. Nevertheless.
So, I am putting together a new menu plan!!
I am Including You in My Planning
- I am putting together a Planning Binder
- It will have a few charts (not too many because that is not useful but time consuming)
- It will be functional
- And a little pretty
