When an athlete trains, they must reach for a level of endurance that seems beyond what they are able to give. When they feel like collapsing and have no more strength to lift themselves into another pushup, they must continue and not give up.
Determination goes a long long way in training to reach a goal you want in life. Part way there it is easy to cave and give up.
Motherhood can be like that.
Your day seems endless and like you will never reach bedtime. It takes strength to lift the toddler and tenacity to continue consistently training when all you feel like doing is collapsing.
Whatever it is that you do. Whatever comes to your mind as you are reading this, you can do. Yes, we won’t be eternally successful without the indwelling of God’s Holy Spirit giving us His strength. We really can’t do it in our own strength.
But we must realize that we are far more capable to do something and if we believe we can, and we must persevere until the end, not giving up.
When you think you can’t you won’t
Do you self-talk to yourself? If you are constantly saying you cannot you will quit and won’t.
So you think you can’t? You won’t! It all has to do with your mentality about something. I can quote a lot of Bible verses about God’s strength but you can defeat the power of Christ that wants to work in and through you with how you think.
Do you quit before you are done? An athlete who is in training will have to push themselves beyond what they think they can do. Do you get discouraged and quit before you are done?
I am a quitter
I think thoughts often about how I cannot go on any longer. I am tired. There is no way I can get this home back under control. It is 8am and I am already tired.
This post is for me. I am just sharing it with you.
I’m done with feeling sorry for myself for having too much to do. When I am exhausted beyond what I think I can endure, I can still get the job done.
If you have health issues, I understand. You will want to live within the boundaries God has placed in your life at this time with a great attitude.
I just wanted to encourage moms to keep going with a great attitude, not giving up, when too often that is all we feel like doing.
“Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, (2) Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. ~Hebrews 12:1-2~
You can do it!! Don’t give up!!
Are you discouraged? Are you like me and have times where you feel like giving up?
