How long since you specifically asked God to give you a blessing? The story of Achsah is an example of boldness that will inspire you to greater-strengthening faith as you bring your request to God.
Had you heard of Achsah before now?
I know you have heard of Caleb. He was one of the two spies who totally believed that God was going to lead them into the Promised Land.
Achsah, was Caleb’s daughter and she the kind of faith that asked her father for a blessing.
Have You asked God to Give You a Blessing?
And Caleb said, He that smiteth Kirjathsepher, and taketh it, to him will I give Achsah my daughter to wife. And Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, took it: and he gave him Achsah his daughter to wife. And it came to pass, as she came unto him, that she moved him to ask of her father a field: and she lighted off her ass; and Caleb said unto her, What wouldest thou? Who answered, GIVE ME A BLESSING; for thou hast given me a south land; give me also springs of water. And he gave her the upper springs, and the nether springs. (Joshua 15:16-19)
This story totally grabbed my attention.
I could easily have just kept on skimming through Joshua 15 and missed it because it is an account of the distribution of the inheritance of Judah.
Is there something that you are bold enough to specifically ask God for?
- A better relationship with your husband?
- Issues concerning your children? Your health?
- Someone else’s health?
- Your job or business?
- Your home?
- The lost?
There are so many things that we can specifically ask God to work in our lives. I challenge you to step out today and boldly ask God for a specific request.
Do you ask God specifically for an answer to prayer? What are you asking God for today? I’d love for you to share!
