“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength: they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” ~Isaiah 40:31~
So many moms carry way too much on their shoulders. They are exhausted, weary, and feel like fainting from just the thought of all that they need to do in a day. Ever wake up with that heavy feeling of discouragement?
What if I gave you some ways that you can ease that feeling of heaviness? Your weariness and discouragement are real. You can have hope and find ways to be uplifted in your heart and soul.
What if I told you that your discouragement is really just a lack of God’s nearness and assurance? Waiting on God will cure it! It’s that simple!
Discouragement comes from a lack of faith and it comes from the fruit of not waiting on God.
When a person gets discouraged it is because: they failed at something, financial stress, their child’s behavior, relationships, and any number of situations or issues that bring a heaviness to their heart. Wearied from these problems forgetting Jesus’ invitation to bring each of our burdens and lay them at the cross.
There is a river near where we live and during January and /February, eagles can be seen soaring above the water. When we wait on the LORD, the Bible says it is like mounting up with wings like eagles. Eagles seem to soar and rest on the air currents effortlessly without tiring. When we wait on the Lord, we shall run and not be weary, and we shall walk and not faint. Strength, just like the eagle.
Too often we are tired and discouraged because we carry the burden ourselves instead of laying it on the Lord. Too often we are tired because we are working for God instead of letting Him do the work through us.
We often burn wick when we might burn oil — the wick of human endeavor instead of the oil of the Holy Spirit’s power. ~ John R. Rice ~
When you are discouraged don’t be defeated but instead turn to the Lord for daily renewal through reading of His Word, the Bible, and prayer. You will soon find yourself renewed in spirit and soaring like the eagles.
