I’d like to think that I always have a good attitude about my marriage, family, housework, and other areas in my life, but if the truth be told, I have struggled with this more than I ever realized.
The thing with attitude is that we can stumble and fall into the habit of a becoming negative before we ever realize it because it all starts inside our mind with our thoughts.
Choosing Your Attitude
How many of you do what I do?
Before I know it, I am running the details about a situation with my children or a housecleaning task in a very negative way all inside my head. Choosing your attitude can be hard when you hardly realize what thoughts are going through your mind.
The first thing to do in making ‘attitude’ adjustments is to realize what you are thinking.
Our minds are going constantly and especially when something ‘bad’ or negative happens. We rehearse and rehearse what we are going to say back to our husband or children until we are believing the lies of deception inside our head. The situation is playing out-of-control inside our brain and we can’t even shut it off long enough to sleep at night.
Learn to be more aware of your thoughts so you can bring them into captivity before the Lord Jesus. Capture them!
“Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.” ~2 Corinthians 10:5~
Until you become more aware of what you are thinking, you might find yourself blowing situations out-of-control.
