After a long winter when you have been indoors more than outside, you might find you are struggling with mood swings. For some it just might be a heaviness on your heart that affects your mood as life has pulled you down.
I don’t have any idea what you are facing. Maybe one of the biggest trials you have ever faced in life. On the other hand, it might be nothing at all outside of that heavy mood that you awake to.
Honestly, you and I don’t have to ‘stay’ there since we have a marvellous God!!
God promises to give us JOY that isn’t based on what life brings our way. I can promise you that you can rise above your circumstances.

Since we are to put Jesus first, it seems like my priorities are mixed when I say that I workout before my quiet time each day.
I often wake up with this blah-bleh kind of feeling. I am a melancholy at heart. That isn’t good since it works totally opposite of JOY. After falling asleep trying to have an effective quiet time and feeling like crying the whole time (trials, you know) I upped my workouts to daily and started having them first thing after making my bed (that is a mood booster in itself!)
Do you know what? It was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!
I am no nurse or doctor and don’t have lots of medical information to back up my findings. I am only sharing a personal testimony of what I have found.
It is pretty hard to stay moody or melancholy once I have exercised. Add to that the daily discipline of reading God’s Word and my mood is CINCHED for the day!!
I find that exercising also is a form of worship. As I lift my hands up in the air doing this and that movement, I am also lifting them to the Lord in worship. Sometimes I pray as I workout. Sometimes I just allow my mind to relax from all the anxiety trying to crowd into my day. Once I have added God’s Word to my day, it is inevitable that I will not have more trouble with my mood being down as I have allowed Jesus to be Master of my day and I am using my body’s natural gifts to balance hormones and whatever it is that makes me so wonderfully and marvelously made by my Almighty God.
