I have been sharing about different things you can do to keep your life on track. Getting your life organized, having the right attitude, and getting enough sleep all help you to act in a way that is glorifying to the Lord.
Do you exercise? Do you realize how much good a workout will do you? Do you want to become a fitter YOU?
Rewind a few years, and I was a younger me. I was a kid that ran everywhere and loved to swim. What I loved better than doing laps was to do a jack-knife off the high dive.
Fast forward a few years and I would remember to exercise about once a month. I was thin so there are more reasons for becoming that ‘fitter you’ than just taking off a few inches. Now I struggle to keep the inches from packing back on.
Reasons You Should Become a Fitter You
Yes, I want to convince you!!
- Are you constantly tired to the point of exhaustion?
- Do you have considerable monthly pain?
- Do you struggle with serious PMS symptoms?
- Has your metabolism slowed down?
- Are you depressed?
- Do you have trouble going to sleep at night?
- Do you have achy joints and muscles?
Those are all the reasons for becoming fitter and then some.
I tend to wake up feeling melancholy (I have good reasons to live in depression, you know) and I feel stiff and sore, sluggish, and more like staying in bed longer (who wouldn’t when it’s -6 when you wake up!!)
There is also high blood pressure and diabetes in my family and I really don’t want either. I am not saying that becoming fitter is a cure for those diseases. I am not a doctor. In my opinion, movement sure helps to keep the blood pumping and the heart working optimally for whatever days the Lord gives me.

I want to really live and breath in each moment God gives me with the best health possible. That is the best way I can think of to live my life to the glory of God.

I am only suggesting 15 – 30 minutes. Most days I only do 15 minutes because there is so much else to do.
I am not suggesting you go to the gym. I did that once with a friend. We had so much fun but I don’t have the time to go to the gym. I live 30 minutes from a gym.

I know you know that exercise is good for you but do you know how good? It can boost your mood and those intimate times with your husband and much more.
The benefits of becoming fitter are there for the taking regardless of your age. We just don’t get enough of it these days. If we would grab hold of it and run (ha ha!) with it, we would be shocked at how much we would gain (and loose inches ;-))

- Exercise controls weight (hello?!)
- Exercise fights diseases and other health conditions
- Exercise puts you in a better mood
- Exercise boosts energy
- Exercise improves your sleep quality
- Exercise puts the sparkle back into your ‘intimate’ times with your husband
- Did I say that exercise can be fun?!
I could elaborate on each one of those but I know you wouldn’t have time to read it all today. For now, just contemplate the thought of including some sort of movement in your day.
